We are loving these photos! Taken by award winning German photographer, Wiebke Haas the images catch those mischevious looks that we adore, and that make us laugh with our horses.

Wiebke describes herself:
'I'm a horse girl with heart and soul. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of hoof-beats and flying through the fields on the a back of a horse. I can't imagine a day without these magnificent animals.'
She says that 'horses can be hilarious and darn funny!'

"In 2011 I took the first image of the photo series "Horsestyle". It shows the beautiful Haflinger stallion Mozart. During the photo session I recognized his whirling mane which I wanted to draw attention to. By tickling his ears he shook his head in this brilliant way.

"It’s my greatest passion to tease out nearly human expressions of my horse models. So I searched for other horses with impressive manes for a photo series. It was really fun to work with such different horsy characters. The black PRE Allaus learned to shake on hand sign within 5 minutes before the photo session! Arabian stallion Hafid preferred to neigh proudly in studio first before he realized that 3 girls where absolutely euphoric when he shook his head.

"The most difficult part was to keep the horses straight to the camera. Most time they wanted to move their head to the side or downward. A good handling and horse goodies were highest priority. I focused on a great face and a harmonic choreography of the hairs."

Horsestyle, the set has been shortlisted for a 2018 Sony World Photography award (winners announced on 19 April).
